
Clarissa Smith, Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist
Clarissa Smith is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Oregon and is nationally board certified (NCCAOM) in Acupuncture. A 1997 graduate of Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine, she is the founder of Jade Acupuncture, and has practiced in the northwest neighborhood of Portland, Oregon since 1998. She treats a wide variety of internal and musculoskeletal disorders, with a focus on digestive issues, respiratory, skin and womens health issues. Clarissa has a rich background in herbal medicine, having begun her training at Santa Fe College of Natural Medicine in 1982 where she studied clinical herbalism as well as wild harvesting of plants, and pharmacology. In 2011 Clarissa completed a professional post graduate advanced training in Canonical Chinese Medicine with Dr Arnaud Versluys. She incorporates both Western and Chinese Herbal Medicine in her work. A passionate advocate of natural medicine, Clarissa strives to educate her patients to take care of their health in a fun and practical way. She has also been a student of various nutrition philosophies for the past 25 years and has been particularly influenced by the work of the Weston A. Price Foundation.
